About Bellwether Manufacturing

OUR STORY

Bellwether Manufacturing is a utility trailer manufacturing company in its second year of operation as of June 2023. Even though we are surrounded by a sea of trailer manufacturers, from small to some of the largest in the world, we have already developed a reputation for being one of the best trailers on the market today. The quality of our trailers and our outstanding customer service is second to none and we are very proud of that recognition. Our extensive background in LEAN Manufacturing and Quality Assurance along with our low overhead allows Bellwether to provide our customers with a quality product at a fair price. With a combined total of over 320 years in the utility trailer industry, we are proud and honored to work with our dealers and customers to meet their needs.

What sets us apart from the rest? It starts with our moto;

What sets us apart from the rest?
.....it starts with our motto:
Build it BETTER!   Build it STRONGER!   OVERBUILD!!!

We work as a team, and with that mindset, each team member takes pride and responsibility for their work and the work going on around them. We do not work in an assembly line environment. You will never find acres of stock trailers on our lot. Each trailer manufactured is custom built, from start to finish. Each trailer is built Just In Time for delivery to our customer.

Even if an order has eight or more of the same style of trailer, each one has a custom build card that follows that trailer from the sales order to delivery and then kept on file for the life of that trailer. The welder will build the trailer from start to finish and sign the card, so their name is associated with it forever. The iron worker will cut each piece of steel. The helper will lay out every part going on that specific trailer. Every step of the process is monitored for Quality Assurance, recording where that trailer is in the whole production process. That record is also kept with the build card once the order has been shipped out. All our employees take ownership of their work. If at any point in the production process a flaw or defect is found, there will be a team meeting to discuss what happened and how it can be corrected and what, if anything, can be done to keep it from happening in the future. Every mistake is an opportunity for a Teachable Moment.

Bellwether does not employee engineers to sit in an office and design cookie cutter trailers. When there is a new design or a change in a design, there will be a team meeting out on the production floor with everyone involved in the build process. We rely on the years of experience that our team shares to design what will be a better, stronger, more durable overbuilt trailer we can offer to our customers. We strive for opportunities for Continual Improvement. Our whole team welcomes our dealers to visit us and watch the process from start to finish.
